Dr. Faison is a Senior Lecturer in Astronomy at Yale and the Director of the Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium. As Academic Director of YSPA, he is responsible for all academic aspects of the program, including setting the curriculum and research projects, teaching most of the morning classes, training and supervising all of the academic staff, and making sure that all students have the resources and skills they need to complete their research projects. Dr. Faison also is responsible for providing academic feedback to students and post-program evaluation, such as letters of recommendation. Dr. Faison has many hobbies, but mainly he likes to cook, ride his bike, play Irish and bluegrass music on his mandolin, and work on projects with his 7-year-old son, August.
